Require approval for changes

A policy holds a kind of change until an approver decides it. Use it for changes that reach customers or move money, such as a price.

  1. Open Settings → Approval policies. Only an Administrator or General manager can.
  2. Find the operation. Each reads Applies immediately or Needs approval.
  3. Turn on Require approval. The change saves at once, and a failed save puts the switch back.

The operations you can gate:

  • Product price, media, name, description and attribute changes
  • Price list rule changes
  • Production cost changes
  • Document issuance
  • Purchase order confirmation
  • Production start
  • Specification changes
  • Customer price list assignment

Reviewer role shows the role that reviews: Approver.

A new workspace starts with approval required for changes to a product’s price, photos, name, description and attributes. The others start off.

Anyone who can approve applies their own change directly: Administrators, General managers and people with the Approver role. Everyone else’s change is held. Holding a change for someone who could approve it would only put it in their own queue.

The person who made the change sees “Sent for review — the change is waiting for approval”.

An assistant connected through Settings → MCP access acts as you. By default it proposes and you approve, even if you could apply directly. The token has This agent may change things without approval; leave it off to keep that. See Skipper, the AI assistant.
