Connect a Shopify store
You connect a Shopify store by installing the Keelvy app. There is no key to copy. The install creates the connection and a channel for the store.
Install the app
Section titled “Install the app”- Install Keelvy on your store from the Shopify admin.
- Shopify opens Connect {your store} to Keelvy. If you are not signed in, choose Create an account or Sign in. The connection continues from the same page.
- If you belong to more than one workspace, choose Which workspace?. With one, it is named for you.
- Click Connect.
What connecting does: orders placed in the store arrive in Keelvy as soon as they are made, and Keelvy keeps the store’s stock numbers up to date. Nothing else is sent to your shop yet.
Choose what happens next
Section titled “Choose what happens next”Open Sales → Channels. The new channel is a Site channel.
- Open it and look under Who owns what on this shop. Choose whether the shop or Keelvy owns names, photos, descriptions and prices. See Connect a shop that already has products.
- Under Price lists, choose the list whose prices go to Shopify.
- Preview and push. See Push products to a shop.
Stock is always Keelvy’s. It is pushed at every ownership level and overwrites stock edited by hand in Shopify.
What comes back
Section titled “What comes back”Orders and returns come back as real orders. Fulfillment is sent to Shopify when you dispatch. Shopify Payments fees are read back for each order. The Orders and stock panel on the channel shows when the last order arrived and when stock was last sent.
If the install stops
Section titled “If the install stops”The page says what happened. The common reasons:
- This Shopify store is already connected to another workspace. Disconnect it there first.
- Your role in this workspace cannot connect a shop. Ask an administrator for access to connections and channels.
- Sales channels are switched off for this workspace.
Connect with a token instead
Section titled “Connect with a token instead”If you cannot install the app, add a channel of type Site, click Connect a shop and choose Shopify. It takes the store’s Shop domain and either a Client ID and Client secret, or an Admin API access token (legacy custom apps).
