Who can see pay

Pay sits behind its own wall. A person can run production without ever seeing what a colleague earns.

  • Administrator, General manager and Bookkeeper can see wages, rates, balances and payslips, and can run a payout.
  • Cost analyst can see product cost but never a person’s pay.
  • Production manager can see worked hours without seeing what those hours are worth.
  • Timekeeper sees only their own hours-entry screen.
  • Everyone else sees no pay figures.

Roles are assigned in Settings → Users. See Roles and what each one sees.

A position’s hourly rate is a cost input, not somebody’s salary, so anyone who is allowed to see what things cost can see it. A user who cannot see costs sees the position name with no rate at all.

Every change to a person’s record, such as their wage, their rate or their tax profile, is recorded with who made it and what it was before. So is every payment and every payslip. See See who changed what.
