Set up delivery methods and zones
Delivery settings answer what a shopper is offered at checkout, where it goes and what it costs. A method is a way of receiving goods. A zone is a set of places. An offer sells one method in one zone at a price.
Open Settings → Delivery. It has four tabs: Methods, Zones, Codes and Shops.
Create zones first
Section titled “Create zones first”An offer sells a method in a zone, so start there.
- On Zones, click Add zone and name it.
- Choose Named places, or Rest of the world for every place no named zone covers. There can be only one Rest of the world zone.
- For named places, search for countries and click one to choose its regions or postal codes. Or start from a preset: All US states, Contiguous US (48 + DC), US + AK + HI, EU-27, EU without outermost regions or UK.
- To leave a place out, use the Except lists. They apply after what you included, so they win. A zone can be 48 states and DC, except ZIP 96xxx.
- Postal codes can be one code, a start with
*(900*) or a range (10000-19999).
When two zones cover a place, the narrower one wins: a postal set beats a region, a region beats a country. If two zones cover it equally narrowly, the lower Priority number wins. If they also share a priority, neither wins and offers there fail, so give one a different priority. Keelvy warns you on both zones.
Add a method
Section titled “Add a method”- On Methods, click Add method.
- Name it. Keelvy makes the Code from the name. Integrations use it to find this method, so changing it later breaks anything that looked it up by the old one.
- Choose How it arrives: To the door, Pickup branch, Locker, Pickup at our site or Own courier.
- Set the Promise in days, from and to.
- Choose Fulfillment: We buy the label from a carrier connection, or A provider ships it (a provider that holds your goods and ships them itself). A door, a branch or a locker is a carrier’s service, so choose the Carrier connection first. Only the ways that carrier delivers are offered.
- For Pickup at our site, choose the Pickup location. The shopper can pick up only if the goods are there.
You can pin one of the carrier’s services to the method, or leave it open so the service is picked when the label is bought.
Add offers
Section titled “Add offers”Open a method and click Add offer. For each offer choose the Zone, the Currency and a Rate rule:
- Flat: one price.
- By weight or By value: price tiers.
- Free over: a price, free from an order amount.
- Carrier live: the carrier quotes it. A Fallback price is required, charged when the carrier is slow or down.
An offer can also have a minimum and maximum order, a maximum weight, Ships from locations, and the Sales channels it applies to. Leave the last two empty to mean everywhere. If a cart splits into several shipments, choose whether to charge each shipment or once, at the highest.
A method with no offers is never offered.
Test it
Section titled “Test it”The What would be offered panel asks what a checkout asks: a country, a currency and a cart. It shows which methods would be offered and, for the rest, why not: not in a zone, below the minimum, over the weight, a product with no weight, no stock location for the whole cart, and so on. It only reads. Nothing is saved.
Map a channel’s delivery codes
Section titled “Map a channel’s delivery codes”A sales channel can send its own delivery code with an order. On Codes, click Map code, choose the channel and the code as it sends it (case and spaces do not matter), and pick your method. Orders that already carried the code are linked at once.
Send the setup to a shop
Section titled “Send the setup to a shop”On Shops, Preview push shows exactly what would change in a connected Shopify, Wix or WooCommerce shop. Nothing is sent until you confirm, and Keelvy only touches the shipping settings it created itself. Import from shop reads the shop’s own. If the shop’s shipping was changed outside Keelvy, the tile says so.
