Fix an exchange rate by hand
Use a manual rate when you quote in a currency at a rate of your own, or when no source covers the pair.
Freeze a pair for the whole workspace
Section titled “Freeze a pair for the whole workspace”- Open Settings → Currency and find the pair in Coverage.
- Set Mode to Manual.
- Type the rate in Override rate.
The pair stops updating by itself, and every price list on the system rate uses your rate until you switch the pair back to Auto. A rate you type by hand is applied directly, without the change gate described in What happens to prices when an exchange rate moves.
To enter several pairs at once, use Edit manual rates on the Manual rates source. You can leave pairs blank: they fall through to the next active source.
Give one price list its own rate
Section titled “Give one price list its own rate”Under Exchange policy there is Manual policies.
- Click Add policy.
- Name it, choose the currency pair under Select a pair and enter the rate.
- Save.
Then edit a derived price list that converts that pair and choose the policy as its Exchange policy. The other lists keep following the system rate.
A policy for a pair that does not involve your base currency is the only rate that pair has, because no source quotes it.
Give a brand, a category, a product or a channel its own rate
Section titled “Give a brand, a category, a product or a channel its own rate”A manual policy belongs to a price list. For a rate that follows the goods, such as one rate per brand because each distributor quotes its own, set an exchange-rate rule by scope instead. See Use a different exchange rate per brand or channel.
Switch back
Section titled “Switch back”Set the pair’s Mode back to Auto, or remove the manual policy. Prices recompute from the system rate.
