Change the language
Three settings carry the word “language”, and they do different jobs. Changing one does not change the others.
The language you read the screens in
Section titled “The language you read the screens in”This one belongs to you, not the workspace.
- Click your avatar.
- Choose Language and pick one from the list.
The list shows each language in its own name, for example English, Українська, Français, Español, Deutsch, Nederlands and Italiano. A phrase not translated yet appears in English.
The language your products are described in
Section titled “The language your products are described in”This one belongs to the workspace. In Settings → General, Product locales lists the languages product names, descriptions and attribute values are written in. Add a locale, drag to reorder, and use Make default to choose the one shown first. You cannot remove the default; choose another default first.
Each product then carries one column of copy per language. Customers also carry their own default language and currency.
The language a document is issued in
Section titled “The language a document is issued in”This one belongs to the company issuing the document. In Settings → Legal entities, Document language is the default for everything that entity issues. The language is kept on each document, so a document keeps its language even if you change the default later.
