Complete a production order

When a run happens, you tell Keelvy what was really made and used. It then takes the materials out of stock, books the finished goods and locks what the run cost. Start from a planned order. See Plan a production order.

Under Operations, choose the Employee who did each step, the Machine, and the hours. The employee’s hourly rate is captured as the actual labor cost. Fill in Completed (what was done) and Date done on steps that count toward pay, and do it before you complete the order: once an order is finished, the controls are locked. See Choose how each person is paid.

Click Execute. A confirmation shows what you really did:

  • Actually made next to the planned output. A product counted in pieces must be a whole number.
  • For each material: Planned, Scrap and Actually used. Scrap and used quantity are one fact: enter 0 scrap if nothing was lost.
  • Actual hours for each operation.

Click Confirm and complete. Keelvy takes the materials out of stock, books the output into the production location and locks what the run cost, shown under What this run cost as materials, labor, machine time and cost per unit. If something could not be priced, the order says so and the cost updates with the part that is known. Set the missing price or rate and the next run locks the whole.

If a material is short at the location, its negative-stock policy applies to the part above what is free.

The Complete button appears only for an order that is in progress or in quality check and whose goods are already in stock, as a way to close it out.
