Make a wholesale list from your retail list

A derived list has no prices of its own. Each price is calculated from a parent list, so when you change a retail price the wholesale price follows.

  1. Open Sales → Price lists and click Add price list.
  2. Enter the Name and choose the Currency.
  3. Set Calculation type to Derived.
  4. Choose the Parent list.
  5. If the parent is in another currency, choose the Exchange policy for the pair. See What happens to prices when an exchange rate moves.
  6. Click Add price list, then Configure derivation rule.

In the rule editor, with Target set to Default rule, choose a Rule kind and a Value:

Rule kind Value Result
Discount % 40 Parent price minus 40%
Markup % 25 Parent price plus 25%
Discount amount 3 Parent price minus 3
Markup amount 3 Parent price plus 3
Fixed price 12 A flat price of 12 for every product on the list, whatever the parent price is

Type a price in Example input to see the math: the source price is converted first, then the rule is applied, then rounding. Click Apply rule when it looks right.

Add a rule for one brand, category or product

Section titled “Add a rule for one brand, category or product”

Switch Target to Scope rule. Pick a Scope (Brand, Category, Product model or Variant / SKU), a Scope value, a rule kind and a value. The most specific rule wins.

Under Advanced you can add overrides that match a brand, a category, or a range of source prices (Source price from, Source price to, measured after currency conversion). An override can Multiply, take a percentage off or add one, apply a Fixed adjustment, set a Fixed price, or set a Minimum price or Maximum price.

Each override either Replaces derivation (only the most specific match applies) or Adds in order (every match applies, lowest Priority first). Rounding is applied last either way.
