Connect your own Claude or ChatGPT
If you already work in Claude or ChatGPT, you can let it read and work on your Keelvy data there, on your own subscription. It reaches Keelvy through MCP, the standard way assistants connect to other tools.
An assistant you connect can do what you can do in the screens, no more. It sees your products, stock, orders and documents as you see them, and your role’s limits apply: if you can’t see costs, neither can it.
Connect with a sign-in
Section titled “Connect with a sign-in”- In Keelvy, open Settings → MCP access and copy the Endpoint. It ends in
/api/mcp. - In your assistant, add a custom connector (a remote MCP server) and paste the endpoint.
- The assistant sends you to Keelvy to approve. The Connect an AI assistant screen shows who is asking, which workspace it will connect to, and what you grant: your own permissions, in that workspace only.
- Choose the workspace if you have several, and click Connect.
Connect with a token
Section titled “Connect with a token”If your assistant takes a header instead of a sign-in:
- Open Settings → MCP access and click Issue token.
- Give it a name, such as “Laptop Claude”, and optionally an Expires on date.
- Copy the token. It’s shown once and can’t be read back; if you lose it, revoke it and issue a new one.
- In your assistant, add the endpoint and send the token as an
Authorizationheader: the wordBearer, a space, then the token.
Use one token per assistant, so ending one doesn’t disconnect the others.
If it doesn’t work
Section titled “If it doesn’t work”- “Your role cannot connect an assistant.” Ask an administrator to give your role access to MCP.
- The module is off. The message says the AI / MCP module is switched off for the workspace. Contact support.
- A tool you expect is missing. An assistant reads the list of tools when it connects. After Keelvy changes, disconnect and reconnect, or restart it.
- “Invalid input” on a change. The assistant sent a number or a true/false value as text. Ask it to retry with real numbers and booleans.
What it can change
Section titled “What it can change”By default a connected assistant proposes and you approve: it can’t apply changes covered by an approval policy, and it can’t decide approval requests itself. See Limit and revoke a connected assistant.
Use it for a first load
Section titled “Use it for a first load”Many people use a connected assistant for a first load: it reads a spreadsheet of materials, imports products from a shop, and describes production steps. Preview before applying wherever the assistant offers it.
