Sell one product under a second brand with a mirror
Mirrors, as the product card’s Mirrors tab calls them, are a second brand or market for the same goods. A mirror is the same goods sold under a second identity: its own brand, copy, photos, category and prices. Stock and physical facts stay with one source product, so you never keep two stock figures that drift apart. Lumen & Fern can sell a candle under its own name and, as a mirror, under a gift brand on a marketplace.
Create a mirror of a product
Section titled “Create a mirror of a product”- Open the source product.
- Click More actions → Manage mirrors.
- Click Create mirror.
- Choose the Commercial brand. It starts as the source’s brand.
- Choose the Commercial category.
- Leave SKU suffix as it is, or type your own, 1 to 6 letters or digits such as
ETSY. The default is the next freeM01,M02. - Under Media (whole gallery), choose From the source to start with a copy of the source’s gallery, or Its own to start empty. An empty gallery means the mirror shows no image until you add photos.
- Click Create mirror.
If something did not copy, a notice names it: photos, prices or channel listings. The mirror itself is fine; open it and add what is missing before you publish it.
What the mirror owns, and what stays with the source
Section titled “What the mirror owns, and what stays with the source”The mirror owns its title and copy, brand, category, photos, prices and channel listings. All of these stay editable on the mirror.
These come from the source and are locked on the mirror:
- Vendor code.
- HS code, country of origin, product type and the bundle flag.
- Dimensions, weight, dimensional weight and lead times.
- Baseline logistics attributes.
- Physical inventory and stock movements.
Mirrors cannot mirror other mirrors, and a source that is archived must be restored before you create a mirror from it. On a mirror, Open source product takes you back.
Mirror a whole family
Section titled “Mirror a whole family”- Open the source family’s product and click More actions → Manage mirrors.
- Click Create family mirror.
- Set the title, description, brand, category and SKU suffix of the mirror family.
- Under Variants to mirror, leave every variant ticked, or untick the ones this surface does not carry.
- Under Axis map, rename or reorder the mirror family’s options. A mirror can rename and reorder axes but never invent an option the source does not have.
- Under Inheritance policy, choose for each group (title and description, media, category, price positioning) whether the mirror family is Own or Follow source.
- Click Create family mirror.
Each mirror variant draws from the stock of the matching source variant, so a physical item is never counted twice. You can change the inheritance policy later on the mirror family.
Find mirrors in the list
Section titled “Find mirrors in the list”In Catalog → Products, the Mirrors quick filter shows Mirrors, Source products or Regular products.
