Edit every variant in one grid

A family with forty variants should not mean forty visits. Three tabs on the product card show one row per variant, and every cell edits in place.

  1. Open the family and go to Variants & prices.
  2. Click a base price cell and type the amount. Price lists run across, variants run down.
  3. Click a dot in a derived cell to see the rule behind that price.

The legend explains the dots: Auto · in sync, Manual override, No price set, Stale · recalculation queued, Held · approval and so on. A price list can also be derived from another by a rule, and then it recalculates when the base price changes.

To edit all base prices together, click Edit base prices, type the amounts, and click Confirm & recompute. Copy to all variants fills one amount down the column, and Schedule a sale adds a sale price per variant. Nothing is written until you confirm.

Use Assign prices to choose which price lists show as columns, and Configure columns to show or hide SKU, Stock, Channels and Status. The view switch changes between List and Cards.

On the Identifiers tab, each variant has a row with Product ID, SKU, Vendor code, slug, EAN-13 and UPC-A. Click a cell and type; the change saves when you leave the cell. An EAN-13 needs 13 digits and a UPC-A 12 digits with the right check digit, otherwise it is refused. A code another product already uses is refused too.

For SKUs, see Set up SKU rules and codebooks. The row menu also downloads the barcode and QR artwork.

The Logistics tab has one row per variant with size, weight, packaging, HS code, country of origin and production cost. To change several at once, tick the rows and use:

  • Set dimensions (or Set dimensions & tolerances). A field you leave blank stays unchanged.
  • Set HS code, or Reset HS code to remove the override so the category’s code applies again.
  • Set country for the country of origin.

The result tells you how many were updated, unchanged, not editable here (mirrors), or sent for approval.

For a set, the Composition tab shows each variant’s components in one grid. See Sets and kits.
