Draft, live and archived: a product's status
Every product has a status. A new product is a Draft; you move it to Live when it is ready to sell.
The statuses
Section titled “The statuses”- Draft: still being set up.
- Live: ready to sell. The time it first went live is kept under Lifecycle.
- Discontinued: withdrawn from sale. You can choose it only when the repairs feature is switched on for your workspace, because the status means “we still service this”. A product that is already discontinued can always go back to Live.
- Archived: out of the way but restorable. See Archive a product and bring it back.
- Configured: set by Keelvy, not by you. You never pick it, but you may see it on a product.
Change the status of one product
Section titled “Change the status of one product”- Open the product.
- Click the status in the header and pick the new one.
If your workspace requires approval for the change, the status shows Staged for approval and the product keeps its old status until a reviewer decides.
Change the status of a family
Section titled “Change the status of a family”When a product has variants, the status control in the header applies to the whole listing. For a family a dialog asks how far to go:
- Whole listing applies to every variant, including ones you turned off earlier.
- Listing shell only applies to the variant you are on and leaves the other variants alone.
To change a single variant, use the status in its row on the Variants & prices tab.
Archiving the last variant
Section titled “Archiving the last variant”If you archive the last live variant of a family, Keelvy asks what you mean. Choose Archive the whole product to send every variant and the model to the Archive. Or choose Keep this one as a standalone product to keep the variant live as an ordinary product and send the empty model to the Archive.
