Change your plan

You change plans yourself, at any time. Only an Administrator or General manager can.

  1. Open Settings → Billing.
  2. Under Change plan, choose a Plan. The list is priced in the currency you already pay in, and your current plan is marked “(current)”.
  3. Check Billed: per month or per year.
  4. Click Change plan.
  • A bigger plan starts now. The difference for this period is charged to the card on file. The trial clock is not restarted, and capacity you bought on top of the plan is kept.
  • A smaller plan starts at your next renewal. Nothing is charged today and nothing is refunded. The screen says “Your plan changes on” the date.
  • With no card on file, a checkout opens for the change.
  • If your workspace is billed through Shopify, you go to Shopify to approve a new charge. Nothing changes until you do, and the days left in this period carry over.

A discount coupon does not follow you to another plan.

If you use more than the smaller plan holds

Section titled “If you use more than the smaller plan holds”

Nobody is removed and nothing is deleted. Settings → Plan and usage shows what is above the plan and, where a rate exists, what the extra costs per billing period from your next billing period. Adding more needs a bigger plan or more capacity. See When you reach a plan limit and Buy add-on capacity.

  • “That is the plan you are already on.”
  • “The last payment did not go through. Update your card first, then change the plan.” See When a payment fails for how to update the card.
  • “This subscription is set to end, so its plan cannot be changed.” Canceled subscriptions cannot change plan.
  • “Your subscription is billed in another currency, and a plan change cannot switch it.”
  • “There is already a charge open for this period. Settle or cancel it first.”
  • The payment provider cannot be reached: nothing was changed or charged. Try again later.
