What Skipper can do

Skipper works from everything Keelvy knows about your business: products, photos, prices, stock, specifications, batches, costs, suppliers, channels and documents. It does what a person in each of those jobs would do in the screens, using the same rules and the same permissions.

The workspace’s ordinary address is different: it only files documents into the Inbox, and Skipper does not read it. See Send documents to Keelvy by email.

Job Examples of what you can ask
Catalog manager Find products with no description, draft one, translate it, fill in attributes, put a product in a collection, show what is listed on a channel. Ask which products have no recipe, translation, barcode, weight or channel listing and get the total with the first rows
Pricing Show what a customer pays for a product, set a product’s price on a list, set a price break for larger quantities, read the markup and margin of products on any price list against planned, actual or latest-purchase cost
Purchasing Look up a supplier, record what a supplier quotes for a material, draft a purchase order, record a payment to a supplier
Production Read a specification, check where a material is used, draft a specification, create and schedule a production order
Stock What is on hand, what is below its minimum, count stock in a stocktake, record opening stock
Shop manager Find an order, create a draft order, add lines, confirm, dispatch, record a return
Documents and money Preview an invoice before it is issued, issue or cancel a document, draft a credit note, read the profit and loss
Files Read a file you attached, say what it is and propose where to file it

Money figures follow your role. If your role can’t see costs or prices, Skipper can’t either.

Skipper runs reads on its own. Every write becomes a proposal that you approve or reject. Nothing is changed before you press Approve. See Approve or reject Skipper’s changes.

  • It can’t do anything your role can’t. If a step needs a permission you lack, it tells you which one.
  • It doesn’t create price lists or change price-list rules, and it doesn’t connect integrations.
  • It doesn’t close your books. It can read them.
  • It doesn’t write to a channel or a shop by itself. It proposes, you approve.

Ask for a result you can check: Which North & Kiln materials are below their minimum, and who supplies them? Compare the answer with the screen.
