Use your own domain for your storefront

Your storefront normally opens at its Keelvy address. With your own domain, it opens at an address such as shop.yourbrand.com. Keelvy registers the domain, issues its certificate and keeps it renewed.

An own domain is on the Retail and Scale plans. On other plans, the section says so and links to the plans.

  1. Open Sales → Channels and open the storefront.
  2. Under Your own domain, enter the Domain, then click Use this domain.
  3. Add each record under Records to add at your DNS provider at your DNS provider. Each shows its Type, Name, Value and Why: Sends the domain to Keelvy, Proves the domain is yours, or Lets the certificate be issued.
  4. Wait. The status reads Waiting. Keelvy checks on its own, and it usually takes a few minutes after the CNAME is in place. Check now checks at once.
  5. When it reads Live, the storefront answers on the domain with its own certificate. Its Keelvy address keeps working too.

Use a subdomain. A bare domain such as yourbrand.com works only if your DNS provider can point it at another name (CNAME flattening or ALIAS).

Failed means the domain could not be validated. Check the records, then press Check now, or remove the domain and add it again. The certificate provider’s own message is shown.

A domain is refused when it:

  • is an IP address, has a path or a port, or is a wildcard,
  • is a single word instead of a full domain name,
  • belongs to Keelvy or cannot be reached by visitors,
  • is already used by another storefront.

A storefront has one domain. Remove it first to use another.

Click Remove domain. The storefront stops answering on it at once and stays at its Keelvy address. You can add the domain again later.
