Round prices to endings like .99

A 50% discount on 29.90 gives 14.95, which is not a price anyone prints. Rounding turns a calculated amount into one you would.

Rounding is set per list. It applies to calculated prices only. A manual list stores what you type, and its rounding is fixed to No rounding.

  1. Open Sales → Price lists, edit a derived or cost-based list, and click Configure derivation rule.
  2. Choose a Rounding mode.
  3. Choose a Precision for the plain modes, or a Suffix for the ending modes.
  4. Check the result in Example input, then save.
  • Nearest, Down and Up round to a multiple of the precision. With precision 5, down turns 41.00 into 40.00 and up turns 41.00 into 45.00.
  • Psychological down, Psychological up and Psychological nearest land on an ending. Choose from .99, .95 and .90 for cents, or X9, X99, X95, X90 and X999 for whole-number endings. With X99, 1,702.43 becomes 1,699 going down.

Rounding is always applied last, after the rule and after any currency conversion.

An advanced override can carry its own Rounding mode, for example to round one brand to X99. See Make a wholesale list from your retail list.
