Set up production by describing how you make a product
If you make what you sell, you can describe one product to Skipper in plain words instead of filling in a specification field by field. Skipper asks what goes in, what is done and with what, then leaves the specification, its operations and anything missing as proposals.
Start a production chat
Section titled “Start a production chat”- Open Overview → Skipper.
- On the welcome screen, click Set up production. A new chat opens in Production onboarding mode.
- Name one product, for example a Lumen & Fern soy candle in a 200 ml jar.
- Answer Skipper’s questions one step at a time: the materials and how much of each goes into a batch, each step, and who or what does it.
You can attach a recipe card, a spreadsheet or a photo of a process sheet instead of typing.
Check each proposal
Section titled “Check each proposal”Skipper puts each piece in the proposals list: the specification, its operations, and any material, unit or role that doesn’t exist yet. Open each one and compare it with what you said. Reply in the chat to change one (“the wax is 350 g, not 300 g”); Skipper revises the same proposal. Then press Approve, or Approve all for the whole turn. See Approve or reject Skipper’s changes.
Things Skipper won’t invent
Section titled “Things Skipper won’t invent”A rate, a unit conversion or a price is something you say. If you haven’t told Skipper, it asks. If you don’t know a machine’s hourly rate yet, leave it open and come back to it.
