Add a passkey
A passkey signs you in with your fingerprint, face or device screen lock, with no password and no emailed code. It is a separate way in, and it counts as two factors on its own: signing in with one never asks for an authenticator code, even when Ask for a code at every sign-in is on.
Add one
Section titled “Add one”- Click your avatar and choose My account, or open Settings → My account. Find Sign-in and security.
- On the Passkeys row, click Manage. The row shows how many you have, or None added.
- Optionally type a Name, for example

Adding one needs a sign-in from the last 10 minutes. If yours is older, Confirm it’s you opens on the same page: confirm with your password, an emailed code, Google or a passkey. You stay where you were and what you typed is kept. Then press Add a passkey again.
A passkey that syncs across your devices says Synced across devices. If you have an authenticator app, confirm your second factor first.
Sign in with it
Section titled “Sign in with it”On the sign-in page, click Sign in with a passkey. A browser that cannot use passkeys says so, and you use another way.
Remove one
