Set and pin prices on a product
All of a product’s prices live on one grid: variants down, price lists across. A single product is one row.
Assign price lists to the product
Section titled “Assign price lists to the product”- Open Catalog → Products and open the product.
- Go to the Variants & prices tab.
- Click Assign prices above the grid. Manage price lists… in the same menu opens the price list settings.
- Tick the price lists this product is sold on and click Apply.
To do it for many products at once, select them in the product list and use Assign price lists.
Type a base price
Section titled “Type a base price”- In a base list’s column, click the cell and type the amount.
- For several variants at once, click Edit price above the grid. The Edit base prices drawer lists every variant, and Copy to all variants fills one amount into all of them.
- Click Confirm & recompute. Derived lists recompute from their rules when you confirm; nothing is written before.
To set one price on several variants, select them and use Set price.
Pin a price on a derived list
Section titled “Pin a price on a derived list”A derived list calculates its prices. To set one by hand, type into its cell. The price becomes a Pinned override, marked with a pin, and it wins over the calculated price. A pinned price is also protected when an exchange rate moves.
To go back to the calculated price, click Reset to auto on the cell, or open the trace and choose Remove pin — recompute.
When a pin hides a calculated price, the trace reads Shadowed by a pinned price. The calculated number is kept for reference and never used.
See why a price is what it is
Section titled “See why a price is what it is”Click the dot in a cell to open the Price trace. It shows the Source, the Basis (the list it came from, with the currency pair if it converted), the Rule that applied and when it was Computed. A blank cell gives the Reason, for example No base price set yet, No exchange rate available or Product cost is missing.
The dot’s color is the state: in sync, manual override, no price, calculating, stale (a recalculation is queued), conflict, or held for approval.
