Get alerted when a rate moves

A rate that jumps or drifts far from where you expect it can reprice a catalog. Two alerts, set per currency pair, tell you first.

  • A sudden jump. You set a threshold for a pair. If the rate moves by more than that between one update and the next, you are alerted.
  • A corridor. You set a lower and an upper bound for a pair. If the rate goes below the lower bound or above the upper one, you are alerted.

Use the jump alert for a source that suddenly quotes something wrong. Use the corridor when you know the range you do business in, for example a rate you agreed with a distributor.

  1. Open Settings → Currency.
  2. Find the pair.
  3. Set the threshold for a sudden jump, and the lower and upper bound of the corridor. You can use one or both.

You are alerted. The alert does not change a price by itself; what happens to the new rate is decided by your guard bands and your choice of Ignore, Hold, Apply to limit or Require approval. See What happens to prices when an exchange rate moves. Choose how notifications reach you in Settings → Notifications.
