When you reach a plan limit

Every plan sets limits on seats, SKUs, storage, brands, sales channels, integrations, location groups, galleries and legal entities. A banner appears as a meter fills, and Settings → Plan and usage shows all of them.

  • Room for N more on this plan. You are close. Nothing changes yet.
  • Past what the plan includes. New ones still go through for now. You are over, in a short grace.
  • Nothing new can be added until something is archived or the plan changes. You are at the limit.
  • Above what the plan includes. This is what a downgrade leaves behind. Everything keeps working; nothing new can be added.

Nobody loses access and nothing is deleted at any stage.

  1. Archive what you do not use. Archived products stop counting. For SKUs, every variant counts as its own SKU and a product family does not. See Archive and restore.
  2. Free a seat. Deactivate a person who no longer needs access in Settings → Users. See Change or remove someone’s access.
  3. Add a capacity block. A block extends one limit without changing plan. Where a message says to buy an add-on, it has a button that buys the block you need. You see what is charged now and the new monthly total before you confirm, and the limit rises as soon as the payment succeeds. Plan and usage then shows, for example, “N included + M bought as an add-on”. See Buy add-on capacity.
  4. Change plan. See Change your plan.

A product import that does not fit is refused as a whole. The catalog stays exactly as you left it. Make room, then import again.

If you use more than the new plan holds, everyone keeps access. For limits that are charged, Plan and usage shows how many are above the plan, the rate and the date the charge starts. Where no rate is set, nothing is charged.
